Always transport cylinders in an upright position, with their valves uppermost.

Before transport, remove any accessories connected to the cylinder, such as burners, regulators, hose, and any other fittings.

Always secure cylinders during transport to prevent them from rolling around.

Avoid transporting cylinders in a vehicle’s passenger compartment whenever possible, as a leakage may occur and cause a fire outbreak in the vehicle.

When transported in an enclosed vehicle, open windows to allow for proper air ventilation. If cylinders are in the boot, keep the boot lid open in a fixed position to allow for adequate ventilation.

Unload the cylinders as soon as possible after arrival at destination (ventilation decreases considerably when the vehicle is stopped or parked).

Do not leave cylinders in enclosed vehicles overnight or for long periods of time (more than 1 hour).

Cylinders should not be placed on car seats.

Limit the number of cylinders to be transported

NEVER transport a leaking cylinder.

NEVER drop cylinders or submit them to any shock. This is an extremely hazardous practice which may result in serious injury.
